The Empact team includes Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists who specialise in working with children and their families.

We emphasise a team approach within Empact, and most importantly with your child, family and other support providers. This way we’re all working together to improve your child’s quality of life and independent living.

Each child is an individual and every family situation is different. Some children need extra support to help them to achieve developmental milestones and enable them to build on their sensory, motor, social, emotional and academic abilities. We’re passionate about helping them to do so and assisting your family in every way we can. You know your child best and by working together we’ll build a really strong team, and support your child’s learning and development, and your family life.

Your therapist/s will work with you and your child to establish your goals and develop a personalised therapy plan, often using a blend of supports to improve and assist the way your child’s body moves and functions, and to increase their independence and ability to enjoy their day-to-day activities. This plan will be flexible to respond to your child’s changing needs and goals and we’ll review it with you as needed to make sure it’s relevant and effective, and you’re all getting the best possible results from it.

The supports in your child’s plan may include a range of treatments, including massage, stretching and exercises, as well as different aids, devices and technology. We also provide advice and information to your family and support networks and are here to help and assist you in every way we can.
